How often are museums whimsical?
Here’s a superb text used at the V&A to accompany this picture :
“In a town called Quantum, Alabama, she was stopped by the Highway Patrol. They ran her tags and asked her if she knew what was happening. ‘It’s a simple Question,’ the puffed-up cop said. ‘Sit still there will you? It’s a simple question and it deserves a direct answer. We just want to know what you know and when you started knowing it. That’s all we want.”
